I need to tell you that your GPS Vehicle Tracking gadget is really saving me some money. I use it to compare daily time sheets from the men and it really has cut down on my payroll. As you know, by law an employer needs to pay one way to the job. However, we do not need to pay everyone, only the driver, for the ride home. You can see where I’m going with this. My crew cab holds 6 men. (Example: trip to Boston. Going to job in morning is 1.5 hrs in normal traffic. Travel home 1.5-2 hrs. 1.5 x $37.00= $56.25 x 5= $281.25. Amount in 1 week = $1406.25. The clock stops ticking when the truck starts moving, and only the driver gets paid. Also, because they know that they are being tracked, it stops them from making the coffee stops on the way to the job. The old “traffic was heavy” excuse is no longer valid. Another point is misuse of the vehicles after hours and on weekends for the trips to the store which saves on gas, but, and this is really huge, it decreases (no, eliminates completely) the odds of an accident happening, increasing insurance costs, and possible loss of a valued employee. Having the devices in our trucks saves us a lot of money and gives us piece of mind to know where our trucks are at all times.
